About us

Kidney Research Kenya is a non-profitable organization, which was founded on 23rd May 2008. The aim of the organization is to establish free / affordable patient focused wholesome renal care to include dialysis (haemo and peritoneal), kidney transplantation and renal specialized training.

KRK is run by directors who are doctors, nurses and patients from East Africa who live and work in Europe and America with an aim of improve the kidney patient experience in East Africa based on their healthcare experience abroad.

Our vision is to set up patient centred care in renal health throughout Kenya, using a similar model as our pilot project in Kiambu County. Through our proposed ‘Centres of Excellence in Renal Health,’ we have now established a relationship with the central government through the ministry of health to train renal specialist abroad. The same services will be duplicated to the rest of East Africa.
